I had 2 separate 3 hr gtt tests that came back at 46, and 47, so the family Dr said I am hypoglycemic and sent me to an endocrinologist.. Then my fasting insulin came back at 4.7L the range was (6.0-27.0) . I already do the hypoglycemic diet and don't feel well, but the endo said I was fine because my fasting bs was 80 with that. My gp Dr has me check my bs in the am,somedays it isn't normal. Is there anything besides diabetes and hypoglycemia?

I guess I need to know, is there a name for a condition having low insulin and low blood sugar together I can ask about? That's what came up in my labs, what do those indicate? I have looked and googled and don't come up with anything, even at that link, which I have seen before, btw. The endo Dr had the labwork in front of him and did not say anything. He was more interested in my thyroid, which he said was high (4.7), then he retested it then he said it was normal (2.9) at the follow up, so he shooed me off. I guess I need to seek another endo opinion, but I waited 3 months for that one and it was a flop, so I'm not thrilled I wasted all that time and hope.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

this is a quote from an article "hypoglycemia, hypoinsulinemia, and impaired insulin/C-peptide responses to glucagon in patients with hepatoma and hypoglycemia presumably reflect the production of insulin-like substances by the hepatoma."
hepatoma and other liver disease as well as endocrine issues need to be addressed.
here is the article http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/67/3/546
