My back was injured in Vietnam in 1968. Scarlation L-5 and sever back sprain. My concition worsened over the years and I am now totally disabled. My knees and other orthopedic problems have occured due to this previous injury. About two years ago I started having problems with my right shoulder. Several visits to the VA hospital have only resulted in increase of pain medications. My shoulder hurts from my shoulder blade in the back and radiates all the way around to the front. I have also lost dexterity in my right hand along with strength. The pain medications help some but by mid-day I have to put my arm in a sling which only makes the pain tolerable. I do have a tear in the right rotater cup, but was advised by VA Doctors that surgery would only make it worse. They suggest continue pain meds and basicly live with it. I don't feel this is right but can not afford outside medical treatment. Please advise me as to what to do.

I don't beleive this, I ask a question that cost $10. You gave me a question but no answer. If this does not work out for you they are looking for doctors like you at the VA Hospital.
