It has be going on about a month. My legs above the ankles are a little sore to touch. As I sit here at the computer my feet have some numbness and tingling. My heart does not hurt and i have no chest pains. It isn't time for a physical so I have been waiting it out.

Dr. Steve.
I appreciate your time but this is not just in my legs. My hands are cold now. I have swelling or fluid around my eyes and hands. The fluid seems to gather at night. Why do you see this as a symptom of diabetes? (I really do like desserts) I am 5'4 and weigh 141 if that makes any difference.

Thanks,
Becky

Hi,

I'm not saying it IS diabetes, but that it COULD be...since diabetes is 1 of the most common causes of neuropathy [numbness], esp. in hands/arms/feet/legs. You certainly should get tested for it.

The SWELLING may be a separate problem [eg. a metabolic dz causing sodium retention; or early sign of congestive heart failure, or renal dz].

Please get a thorough medical eval soon, Nancy.

Take care.
