After suffering from digestive problems for many months, my Dr. wants to test me via stool sample for celiac. The reason is that after going gluten-free I have felt better. The problem is that I was told the test will not be accurate unless I have consumed gluten. How much do I need to consume and for how many days before I take the test. My doctor got called away on an emergency before I had a chance to ask her.

When I click on that link, I just get taken back to the Just Answer homepage. I am going to go ahead and do the stool test though as it's been already ordered and she is checking stool for other things as well. She is also doing the blood test which I just realized after looking at the lab order. I guess she is just being thorough by doing both. Still, she said that I needed to eat some gluten or the tests would show a false negative. Again, I didn't have a chance to ask how much gluten I needed to eat or for how long before I have the test.

Hello,

3 days should be enough to have accurate results.

I am glad she is doing the lab test too.

Sorry about the link I am not sure why it is doing that.

I will try to get you another one.

Good luck with your test!

Macy
