Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),
The IBS and lactose intolerance is likely contributing to your change in bowel movements. However, the color of your stools is a bit concerning. The yellow color is most likely from the stool exiting your body too fast (from the diarrhea), but may also be a sign of something more serious going on. You need to be seen by your doctor to get everything checked out.
In the meantime, eliminate all dairy from your diet (if you consume dairy along with a lactose intolerance pill, you should try eliminating all dairy instead). Additionally, slowly increase the amount of fiber you are eating (taking in too much fiber at once can cause more diarrhea, but doing this slowly will instead "bulk up" your stools, making diarrhea less likely). Try eating a high fiber cereal in the morning, beans or green vegetables.
You may also want to try the new yogart by Dannon called "Activa." After consuming this for a week or two, your digestive system should be more regular. Additionally, there are some new over the counter products made specifically for IBS - ask your local pharmacist or drugstore for details.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Sincerely,
Emily
