Hello,
I can certainly imagine how concerned you must be. So let me try to explain exactly what is Brucella.
First of all, it is a bacteria that is carried usually by cattle, but can also be found in goats, pigs and dogs.
Humans do not easily get this bacterial infection. A person can contract this bacteria through skin, respiratory tract or digestive tract. Once there it enters the blood stream and the lymphatic system causing an infection in the blood.
Symptoms can include high fever, chills and sweating. Treatment consists of giving Streptomycin or Erythromycin which usually takes care of the infection.
