Question

cyclic vomiting natural healing

Sent to Health Experts September 12, 2006 2:14 p.m.

My 13 yr old granddaughter has all the signs & symptons of cyclic vomiting,. She is sick alot, her mother is a single mom, thus the medical card and it is hard enough to find a specialist, let alone one that takes the medical card. Are there natural things that we can be doing for her that will make a difference. School has been going on for 2 weeks and she has been 2 days. Thank you for any help and guidance, Linnell XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX

The best thing to do is to try a bland diet of cooked rice and/or boiled chicken or beef along with some chcken soup, cottage cheese, and nothing spicy, greasy, or high in fat as this will be more tolerable to her stomach. There are some natural stomach aids as well as the OTC remedies such as Prilosec OTC that it sounds as though she needs. It sounds as though she may have a problem with stomach acid buildup causing the chronic vomiting and lessening the stomach acid content will help to correct this problem. I highly recommend the Prilosec OTC as this will help to reduce the amount of stomach acid in her system and that along with the bland diet can help to get her stomach back into control again. If she continues to have problems with the aid of the Prilosec then she may need a prescription strength medication such as Prevacid or Nexium but this should help you to determine if this is what is causing the chronic vomiting or not so try these things first to see if this seems to help and if not then they do need to further evaluate her to determine if the Nexium would be better and if this is related to a peptic ulcer that is causing this to occur. A natural colon cleanser may also help alot to clear her digestive tract that can also cause chronic vomiting so this is something to consider as well as some remedies you can find at your local natural health food store such as clove powder extract can help with the digestive system also.
