At 9 1/2 weeks we did not see a fetal heartbeat on ultrasound, Dr recommends abortion. Is this correct?

Dear natty,

I am so sorry dear. If your baby's heartbeat was not found by doppler in your doctors office, and not found on ultrasound, then I am afraid that miscarriage is inevitable. Your doctor is just trying to save you the pain of miscarrying without notice and possibly when you are all alone. He is just trying to make it "controlled". That way you will be in the hospital for pain medication, and to make sure you do not bleed excessively so you may have other children someday. It is YOUR decision, and if for any reason you feel that your doctor may be mistaken for any reason, then get a second opinion.

Good luck to you, you are in my prayers.
