toddler skin question

Sent to Health Experts July 19, 2005 12:31 a.m.

I have a 29 month old son who has recently started getting clear like blisters in between his neck and chest it started out with one on his shoulder closer to his neck then within a short period of time started spreading in the neck area. The bumps are a little raised have no rough feel to them but are a clear color/almost same as skin color. The bumps are in a cluster like form around the neck area.At first I thought maybe a skin tag but the bumps are not raised very high. Can you explain these bumps to me?? Thanks

Hi Country girl

I can try:

My first inclination is to think it might be a heat rash. It is in his neck area which can get real sweaty for those little guys especially with this heat. Try to keep him cooled down, and clean and dry in the creases see if that doesn't help.

If it doesn't, have the doctor check him out.

Hope that helps!

That was my first instinct too but none of the bumps seem to go away and they are just increasing in numbers. The first bump started out i would say about a month ago.Until here within the last week or so is when the amount of bumps is increasing.

Hi

It could be viral. It could also be fungal. It is possible it is like an athletes foot. Then over the counter lotrimin should clear it up.

Here is a web site that explains it.

Here is another web site that explains a whole myriad of skin stuff, that you might be able to narrow it down more.

I sure wish I could be of more help.

Has he seen a doctor for this?
