My husband has a "fever of unknown orgin" for over 4 weeks now. He's had numerous blood tests, blood cultures, urine test, chest xray and he had a CT scan of his belly and chest last night. He has lost about 12 pounds, his upper arms and the upper part of legs hurt. He has been taken Advil 24/7 now. He has seen his regular doctor who then in turn sent him to see an infectious disease doctor. He is so weak and I am very frustrated because it doesn't seem that we are getting any answers. Some of the blood work indicate that things are not right but do not point to anything in particular. He is also a diabetic. The tests show he is slightly anemic,there is inflamation somewhere in his body. One of the first tests showed that his liver enzymes weren't right. The doctors have'nt mentioned that again. At first his white blood count was up but now that is normal they say. I feel that they are as much at a loss as we are. I can't understand why he hasn't been put in the hospital. He can't work. This is getting scary. We need some advice on what to do next. Please HELP us.
