Question

I have developed an outbreak of Jock itch I believe.

Sent to Health Experts November 05, 2005 6:15 p.m.

I have developed an outbreak of Jock itch I believe. I've started treatment with Lamisil spray. Its day three and its just now starting to get better, but I've noticed its spread just a little bit. When do I need to see a doctor? How long should I try treating it on my own? The package says just to use it once a day, is it possible to use it more, if so, how often? Is drying my skin with a hair dryer a good or bad idea?
Thanks you.

REPLIED Check Mark

lamisil is for nails not for the groin area.

If you have been using this, Tinactin for the groin area. Keep using Tinactin for up to 2 weeks, even if it goes away.

If you are not positive that it is jock itch, you should really have your doctor look at to confirm so you are not putting the wrong type of treatment. If you are sure it is, then try Tinactin and see if that helps.

The lamisil says its for jock itch also, it says" cures most athletes's foot and jock itch (tinea crusis). Do you think that Tinactin would be better? I believe it uses a similar active ingreadiant.
