Plantar warts can be caused by hpv. Read about it here http://tinyurl.com/d4j2j   Hpv also causes genital warts.   If you have these you need to see your doctor as they can cause serious problems. You can read about genital warts here http://tinyurl.com/arm2s    I hope this helps. If so, please check accept.

Everything I have read states that the strain of HPV that causes warts on the foot, such as plantar warts, CANNOT cause genital warts. http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/std/genital_warts.htm This is one site that states that, but I looked at dozens before I started this post. According to all the research, out of the one hundred different types of hpv, about 30 can infect the genital tract and cause warts. The ones that can do that, do not cause plantar warts and vice versa. However, hpv can be asymptomatic for many years or forever. That is why it's important for people to be tested if they have unprotected sex. You or your husband could have contracted this before you were monogamous. It is extremely contagious through sexual contact, but he may never break out with warts, as they are less common in men than in women. You should both see a doctor--treatment, and he for testing and treatment. HPV, if left untreated, can cause serious health problems. Even if the warts go away on their own, which they sometimes do.

I hope that clears things up for you a bit. If you want further information, just let me know.
