I recently (2 days ago) was admitted to the hospital for chest pain. I received Heprin IV and Nitroglycerin. My question is my stools are orange color and very loose. Is this normal?

I did check the data base for side effects of the two you have listed above. There is nothing that indicates change in stool. (but not all known side effects are listed--since it can vary from person to person)

After some research on orange color/loose stool. There are a few things that can cause this. It could be due to certain medications. (which may be one of the above--but since not all known side effects are listed-it can't be confirmed) also some other possibility's for that type of stool Vitamin A. Or certain vitamin supplements as well. It could also be a lack of bile salt (which gives stool a brownish color). Other sources could be antacids, barium from recent barium enema test.

So if this is something that continues or doesn't appear to improve in color or firmness, I would just give your doctor office a call.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button
