Question

please help i have scatica that happens occasionally the

Sent to Health Experts January 02, 2006 9:19 p.m.

please help. I have scatica that happens occasionally, the last flare up was 2 years ago. I spent the last two nights in unbearable pain (unable to eat or sleep) because the dotors at the ER dont understand that vicodin DOES NOT WORK FOR ME!! at all...I went through this the last time it flared up, and eventually they gave me Percoset, which worked great (less drowsiness and more awareness). I had taken the vicodin witout relief (at the highest dose they would give me 10mg/1000mg)for 2days, and it worked NOT AT ALL. at
half that dosage with the Percoset I was able to quit it after 4 days. these pain issues are acute, and traumatic, but not chronic. I am not a drug addict or an abuser, just someone that wants to be out ofpain. able to work, and able to SLEEP...I went to the ER twice on Sunday, to no avail either time. No one will listen to me....

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 48

Already Tried:
ice packs, heating pads, extra tylenol...nothing works. I am in intense pain right now

REPLIED Check Mark

Hello

Can you call your regular doctor? One who knows you and knows that percocet brings you relief? I'm sure they could call in a prescription for you tonight.

Hope that helps,

Kerry

I tried earlier, but it was too late to go in, and they wont prescribe Percoset over the phone.do you think vicoprofen would work? thats for acute pain maybe I could get that...I cant take this anymore, it hurts unbearably...why do they always consider females to be stupid and unknowing about themselves? (thats a rhetorical question)
