It does sound like a pimple/boil. It may also be an infected sweat gland as well.

You don't mention how long it's been occurring. You are doing the right thing as far as warm compress. You may also want to try ibuprofen which will help with inflammation as well.

If it doesn't appear to be getting better, you may want to have your doctor take a look, you may need an antibiotic.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!

It's definately not a pimple or boil. It goes from my temple down the side of my face close to my ear, to the curve of my jaw. It is especially sensitive to touch near my jaw. It feels sore, like muscle soreness. This just began today, and steadily got worse. The swelling is noticeable to look at. Sort of puffy faced on the left in that area.

Are you having any other symptoms at all? Teeth hurting? Sinus drainage? Inner ear? Dizzy? Fever? It is warm to the touch?

Thanks

No other symptoms, and its not warm to the touch. Just tender. It feels almost like I've been hit in the ear... but I know I haven't been. And its not like an earache either.

I dont think that this is really helpful. I did what was told... and have no relief. Now, My face is swollen. I can barely open my mouth to talk... let alone eat. And it now seems to be spreading the other side of my face.

Have you possibly been bitten by something? Have you tried benadryl? You may even need antibiotics to help clear this up as well. Is there anything you have changed prior to this happening? Such as soaps, new clothing? Shampoos, creams, bedding, couch etc? try to help.. let me know about the above. Thanks Hun

Nope. Nevermind. Saw a doc. And everything you have told me, is not what is actually going on. Thanks anyway.
