Hello, I am 14 years old and skipped my period this ...

Hello, I am 14 years old and skipped my period this month. I do have a boyfreind but we know for a fact that I am not pregnant because him and I have not had sex or anything to cause me to get pregnant. We are extremely worried but I have not told my mother yet. A friend told me to go to the school nurse but I'm to afriad to. So my question is, what could have caused me to skip my period this month and why did it happen? Please tell me what is happening to me if possible, thank- you so much for your help.
