I have a lump about the size of a marble about 1 inch above ...

I have a lump about the size of a marble about 1 inch above my adam's apple and to the left just a bit. I went to the doctor last week and he said that it was a swollen gland and they swell up for about a month after your sick. Im so worried that it might be a tumor or cancer. The lump isnt visible. What do you think it is?
