I jambed my large toe playing tennis. The skin around the end of the toenail is painful and puffy. How can I relelieve the swelling?

an ice pack at first. then tried soaking foot in warm water

Hello

If you think it is infected, you can keep soaking it a couple times a day. Then dab some antibiotic ointment on it and keep it covered with a cotton sock. This should clear up any infection. If not, you may have to see your doctor for a course of antibiotics.

If it doesn't appear infected, it may need a few days for the inflammation to go down. Icing it is good, and keep it protected with a slipper or another soft shoe where your toes have room and aren't too cramped.
