In December (2005) I accidentally let my left foot get wet and cold for too long a period of time, and ended up with what my doctor told me was a very mild case of frostbite - or trenchfoot, and that I should take anti-inflammatories (OTC) for it. I've been told my liver enzymes are elevated from time to time, and that it's probably caused by using anti-inflammatories.
It's now the end of March, and unless I am ON an anti-inflammatory (I usually use the generic form of Aleeve.), my "frostbitten" areas still burn and itch, and it gets incredibly painful and uncomfortable.
Is there something I should be doing, or should I see a specialist? My internist told me to go see a podiatrist, but I haven't done that - thinking it may be more of a damaged nerve thing.
Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you,
