I am a 38 year old female with 30 year history of mixed connective tissue disease (lupus, arthritis, vasculitis, etc.), under treatment. In the last month, I have had some new symptoms: unexplained weight loss- 12 pounds, more extreme fatigue than usual, and leg cramps. Could these symptoms be explained by anemia? Throughout my complicated history, this is one diagnosis I have actually never had! Thanks, Nancy

It could indicate anemia, it may also indicate thyroid, electrolyte imbalance/vitamin/etc. as well. I would see your doctor for a full blood work up. Which actually you may even want to see an endocrinologist especially if any of the results may come back in the "norm" of low or high.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!
