Question

I had a sonogram at 9 weeks, according to my last

Sent to Health Experts April 07, 2006 10:16 p.m.

I had a sonogram at 9 weeks, according to my last period, we saw the baby but did not detect a heart beat, doctor said the fetus was the size of a six week fetus which leads her to believe that the baby died at 6 weeks which mean it died 3 weeks ago. the doctor scheduled an appointment 2 weeks later for a dnc if I didn't pass the the fetus, here I am a week later and still have not passed the baby, I feel fine, wouldn't think anything was wrong with the pregnancy. I am still experiencing the pregnancy symptoms(nausea, tender breasts, heartburn) and my abdomen is still growing, is it possible there could be another explanation for not detecting a heart beat and why would body still hold on to this baby this long without any complications?
