I have a history several year ago with acid reflux. Ia ssume that was it, because the Nexium worked wonderfully! I am having the same re-occuring pain in my right chest area. Kind of a dull, stabbing pain that came on while I was eating yesterday. It is not typical heartburn as in a burning snesation. Does acid reflux ever provide a chest pain effect?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It can causes that pain as well. But with that said, this may be due to gall bladder vs reflux as well. If this type of pain continues, I would see your doctor and request and ultra sound to confirm. In the mean time, what can trigger and attack is fried, greasy, fatty foods, dairy, chocolate, caffeine as well. So if you eat any of the above type of foods and within 20 min to a couple of hours after eating get this pain, then this more related to your gall bladder.

Here is a site you can read more on this as well.

Relist: I still need help.
I just want to get some confirmation that the previous nurse feels this may be gall bladdr. Is she saying that the above mentioned food is if they DO seem to have an immediate effect, are more like to be symbolic of GALL bladdr, rather than reflux? Years b4, I think that I had an ultra sound for my gall bladder. I am just trying to figure out if teh CHEST area is normally effected by reflux. It is only on the right side and dull ache.
