Sent to Health Experts April 27, 2006 1:19 p.m.

The head of my penis has been sore for about 5 days now, and as far as I know I did nothing to cause this irritation or soreness. I do not see anything visibly wrong, it is just overly sensitive. I also experienced some blood in my urine 2 days after the soreness started, but has seemed to have gone away for now. Any idea what this could be?

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 45

Already Tried:
being careful not to cause any additional irritation - wearing tight underware so as not to rub the head at all.

You may have an infection, which may have been why there was blood in the urine, which may have come from within the urethra vs the bladder. I would however suggest seeing your doctor for a urine culture and possible swabbing, as chances are you need an antibiotic to help clear this up. It may just be a fungal infection, but the swabbing can confirm.
