Sent to Health Experts May 11, 2006 10:47 a.m.

After a recent blood test, my Doctor told me I may have too much iron in my blood.
I need to get retested. What is the correct medical term for this so I can find out
more info? What could be the cause?
He also said that there are no symtoms and the treatment is to give blood once a
month.

Thank you,
PLL

This is referred to as hemochromatosis or iron overload, which can be hereditary. Removing blood is the most effective way of treating it. You can read more about this condition here
