How long does it take for Meridia to become effective

How long does it take for Meridia to become effective in weight loss? I've been taking it for the past nine days, and it does suppress my appetite tremendously. I have'nt noticed any weight loss as of yet (though I have not weighed myself since I left my doctors office nine days ago). I think I'm just over anxious.
PLEASE HELP!

Already Tried:
Phentermine diet pill. I took it for about a month, and I did lose about fifteen pounds, but the pills made me really nervous, and increased my heart rate so I stopped taking them.
