Symptoms that can be a sign of colon cancer are diarrhea, constipation, or a change in bowel movements that does not seem to resolve itself. Also blood in the stool, anemia that cannot be explained, weight loss, narrower stools, abdominal pain, or even a bowel obstruction. Since both your parents have had colon cancer it is good you are going to see your physician on the 22nd as yes this change could be a sign but it could also be irritable bowel symdrome, a dietary intolerance, or a sign of colitis as well. So there are other things it could be, I am including a link below that can explain more about colon cancer that I feel will be helpful to you. Try not to worry too much, although I know that will be sort of hard, but stress can cause a change in your intestional tract as well so you need to try and not worry as much as you can until you are able to see the doctor this week. Make sure he knows all of your family history and every symptom that you have had so he can make an acurate diagnosis.
