My wife was just diagnosed with beta strep B. She delivered our baby nine months ago. Is this common?

Beta strep is commonly found in the vagina of up to 40% of all women. If your wife hasn't already taken antibiotics, she needs to talk to her doctor for a prescription. Also, the baby might have to be tested and treated just in case the bacteria was passed on from mother to child. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
