Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy),
When a patient demonstrates swelling of their extremities, the MD looks for signs of heart, vascular, kidney, hypertension, possible liver disease, etc.
Your Dr. has suggested that you have an echocardiogram to determine if your heart is a possible culprit responsible for your extremities swelling. If your heart is not functionally normally, it is possible for the symptoms you report to occur.
You mention that your Doc has "run every test possible and they have all come back normal." WHat labs, x-rays/scans has your Dr. run? Has testing been done to evaluate your kidney functioning--Which tests were done? At this time, are you following a no added salt, low sodium diet? If not, you should be... How long have you had the signs and symptoms of swelling of your extremities?
Really, until the results of your echocardiogram are received, there is not anything that can be concluded here until this test result has been received. Would be helpful to know what labs, xrays, scans have been done to date...
