I have had a cold (congestion, itchy eyes, sneezing, shortness of breath) along with moderate pain and stiffness in my neck and upper back. I live in the Northeast and while I do not believe I have been bitten by a tick, these sound an awful lot like symptoms of lyme disease. Should I contact my physician or take some ibuprofen for the pain and let it run its course?

Without a rash, or reason to suspect exposure to deer ticks I wouldn't assume lyme disease, but considering the prolonged symptoms, and failure of OTC remedies; a visit to the Doctor is advisable. I would call for an appointment this morning.

Hope you feel better soon!
