I am a nervous wreck! I have what appears to the untrained eye to a polyp hanging out of my vagina. I also have slight itching and redness...After asking a question last night, a nurse confirmed that she thought my symptoms leaned towards a polyp. Here is my frustration...1- I was unable to get an appointment with my gyn today and 2- no where that I have researched says there is itching and redness in the vagina with a polyp. Could this be something more serious???

Hello

Try not to be nervous. This is probably a prolapse of some sort. I'd say that more than a polyp.

As far as the itching goes, if it is a prolapse and it is rubbing up against the vaginal wall, itching and redness are expected.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

I just had a baby in January and have been working out with a beast of a trainer. I had to stop for a few weeks because of intense lower back pain. Haven't been having the lower back pain lately...could these circustances have caused the prolapse (if that is what it is)?

Hello

Both of those could contribute to the cause.

Kerry-

I looked up pictures of varying prolapses...YIKES! While what I read seems to fit my symptoms...after looking at varying prolapses on line, I wonder if that is me. The organs protruding out that I saw were huge! What I have appears more like a tonsil. So could it still be a prolapse? And before I read your first response...I used some monistat cream thinking it would help my irritation and OUCH it made it much worse! So I know it isn't yeast!
