About a year ago my doctor put me on effexor for seasonal affective disorder. I gained around 20lbs in one winter season...being 5-1, that is huge weight gain. I am still unable to loose the weight and feel even more depressed than ever. I am extremely unhappy with my weight and wonder why she would put a girl who has weight issues already on a drug that is known to cause weight gain. I work out every other day, for about 45 mins and eat very healthy. I have a breakfast bar and hard boiled egg in the morning, salad with spray vignette for lunch and popcorn for dinner. On the weekends I will go out for dinner but other than that I am pretty strict about my diet. I am starting to wonder if maybe a medical condition is causing me to not loose the weight. I have noticed a strange "sweet" taste in mouth, (almost like an aftertaste of splenda), I have had thrush in my mouth daily, been extremely thirsty and urinating less. I have also been very tired with little or no energy. I am not quite sure if this is a direct result of my diet or if I should be concerned. I should add, I also have extreme sugar cravings
