REPLIED Check Mark

These tests are measures of the amount of enzymes in the blood stream. They are mainly related to the liver. Many meds do cause damage to the liver. The med you reported above is not reported to cause liver damage. They can be elevated in hepatitis, mononucleosis, gall bladder disease, pancreatic disease, and heart disease. It seems the doc will order additional workups to check these systems. Be sure the doc who is evaluating the abnormal lab values has a full list of all the drugs you are taking, including OTC-vitamins, etc. You should refrain from using alcolol, aspirin, tylenol until you have been fully evaluated.

Is this very high to you and should I be overly concerned. The other medications i take are ativan as needed and ibprofin as needed. everything I read stated it was a concern when it was 3 to 5 times the limits. This was done at my work health screening and not my Dr. office.
The night before the testing I drank 3 glasses of wine, Could this have affected the results.
Thank you

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The enzymes are definitely higher than they should be - the first two are almost double or more than double the reference range. To me that is significant. I would let your doctor know the results. I don't think the enzymes would elevate that quickly from a few glasses of wine. If you drink wine regularly, that could be the cause of the elevation. If it were my liver, I would refrain from the above mentioned and have the enzymes rechecked after a couple months. I would also immediately rule out any other disease processes. I see a lot of lab results in my area and any time those enzymes are elevated we consider it a cause for further investigation.
