Hi, a week ago i saw a doctor as i was experiencing chest pain and a sore throat, after asking questions about my lifestyle and diet, he checked my blood pressure, breathing, ears, eyes, nose and throat etc. He said he thought i had acid reflux, he prescribed me with prevacid and i began the course. I immediatly felt better and although my sore throat remained it was getting better and the chest pain gone completely. 2 days ago my throat got really sore and i noticed i had red spots inside my mouth, i then began to have really bad stomach pains and eventually decided to go to the emergency room. They said it was a virus and prescribed me with famotidine.I also gave a urine sample and they said a could have urinary tract and gave me a shot for ghonerrea and some tablets for chlymidia. I have only taken 1 of the famotidine tablets as it says to take at bedtime, but now i have no pain in my throat or stomach, just terrible pain in my back!It feels as though the pain has moved from my stomach to my back and it's in the middle of my back and at the bottom. Is it normal?i'm worried it may be something serious and the doctors have missed it. The back pain isn't lessening or worsening, do you have any advice. I also seem to have caught a cold!

Mr. J,
You should find out what the results of your testing have been. Are you running a fever or having night sweats? If you are, then you should go back to the ER where you were just at right away and let them know that you now have back pain. Ask the doctor about an "abscess."

If you don't have a fever, then make an appointment with your primary doctor (the first one?) and continue to get this followed up. Try some tylenol and call your doctor for further advice if your symptoms change again. If things somehow get worse, do get yourself promptly to the ER.

If there are reasons why you might have an STD, it would be a good idea for you to get tested for HIV as well at this point.
