My husband is currently on an aspirin therapy to protect against heart disease along with a daily high blood pressure pill and cholestrol pill. If he should bump his arm accidently, he incurs a rather large black and blue mark on the skin and occasionally breaks the skin causing some bleeding. Is there anything that can be done to cut down on the bruising he sustains?

Hello Pat,

Unfortunately, this is the result of the blood thinning effect of the aspirin therapy. He should mention this to his physician.

There is not much that can be done to avoid this. Perhaps his doctor will re-think the dosage or try another type of medication.
