I have a 5 month old son that has had diarrhea
Sent to Health Experts July 03 08:30 PM

I have a 5 month old son that has had diarrhea for the past 72 hours. I talked to my doctor and she said no more formula, give him cereal and bananas along with pedialyte. He has a good bowel movement that is soft after eating cereal in the morning and then gets pedialyte until his last feeding that is also cereal. Should I be feeding him more cereal/bananas? Is there anything else that can be done, other than giving him antibiotics. He is not running a fever, or pulling on his ears. He still enjoys playing, kicking and laughing.

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 5 months

Already Tried:
pedialyte as much as he'll tolerate, cereal morning and night, tried bananas on saturday twice and again today and he liked

If he appears hungry, feed him more. If he is content, I wouldn't worry about it. He will get fussy if he is hungry. You can probably try the formula again tomorrow evening if there is no more diarrhea.

YAY.

Reply to Kerry's Post: What if he still has diarrhea tomorrow? His diarrhea is just green mucus.

Then keep up with giving her the pedialyte, banana's etc. You can also try rice cereal again. Sounds like that is doing the trick!
