Son is on DDAVP for injuries received several years ago

Son is on DDAVP for injuries rceived several years ago. and med. seem to be having less help to him, leaving his electrolytes in a unbalanced state. He has been on this for 6-7 Years now and it doesn't seem to have as long as a lasting effect on him, is there a new treatment that could be more effective than the DDAVP? or some new treatment. (accident envolved his Adrenial gland which dr. stated that 1/2 his gland was no longer functioning received in auto crash -head injury) I need help or some info.---I pains me to see him suffer and I don't know what else to do, for he's up all night drinking anything he can then he's all day in the bathroom throwing up or has diarreah(Misspelled)
