I was told I have Gall Bladder stones, about five weeks ago I had an attact, swollen stomach, pain through out the intestine section. The pain is not specific to the right side. The emer. room doctor had some xrays taken, confirmed the stones and said to remove all fatty foods from my diet.
Four weeks later I have lost 16 lbs and still have the symptoms. what should my next step be? Thank You, Lanny H.

Your next step into this is to see a Gastroenterologist. Even though you change your diet (and generally supplements don't work) you will still have the pain and irritation from the stones. The stones can exit from the gall bladder and travel down the bile duct, which will cause pain and discomfort. The stones can even become stuck in the bile duct, which will not allow the bile to eliminate from your body, causing you to become very ill and in extreme pain. So at this point follow up with the Gastroenterologist for further evaluation and possible removal of the gall bladder.

In the mean time continue to stay away from fried, greasy foods. Foods high in saturated fat, such as red meat and food high in refined sugars, such as pastries. Also avoid egg yolks, whole milk, butter, cheese, as well as a few vegetable fats like coconut oil, palm oil, and hydrogenated vegetable shortenings.

Things that would be good is Taking vitamin C, High-fibers, Cantaloupe, Whole-wheat bread, Oranges, Sweet red peppers, Coffee, Barley
