hi my dad has cirrohsis about 2 months ago the doctor said he only had a few weeks left ,he has had alot of bad days but he seems to always bounce back. i thought he would be worse off , all of us children take turns staying up at night to keep watch, we are thinking that the doctors are wrong, could you please tell me what the last stage of cirrohsis is, i hate just worrying all the time if this is our last day or not.what do we look for .thanks lanette

Reply to Kerry's Post: yes he is up, he gets tired real easy ,but like yesterday he went to my brothers house and spent the day ,and went to town, tonight he was up talking making jokes taking very clear,he swells at night and has trouble breathing somtimes, his head hurts most the time we think its from the swelling.his urin is very dark at one time we thought his kidenys were shutting down but he is going good now. he has quit drinking for about 8 months now,he has been drinking for most of his life he just turned 71 last week.his lactolose dont work like it use too,he goes like every other day,and that really helps keep his head clear.
