No less than two hours. The ER doctor did not mention bad odor or anything like that. I have had numerous blood tests etc with no conclusion. My doctor does not feel it is a chemical burn but from what I have read on the internet it is what it sounds like to me. I have been unable to find anything about treatment of burns in that area

A chemical reaction could include hives, itching, swelling, pain, rash, blisters, and burns. For a chemical type burn on any part of the body you would flush with cool running water for 15 min or more, apply cool, wet compresses. If it's minor, nothing further than this would be done as far as treatment is concerned, unless it is a more extensive burn.

I know about the cool compresses etc. This has been going on for almost three weeks. My question I guess is what can be done to clear this up if it is an extensive chemical burn.

If you aren't already using one, your doctor should have given you a medicated cream. I would also notify your doctor of still having symptoms, if you haven't done so already.

I have seen the doctor and continue to see the doctor. Cream not possible due to the pain. Not really the information I was looking for. I find very little information in regards to possible chemical burns in vaginal area and treatment. Normal burn treatment does not apply to vaginal area. No way to keep the area dry and covered.

If it's been this long and it is not clearing up or getting worse, then you need to notify your doctor who will decide what further treatment needs to be done. What I mentioned above is the standard treatment for a chemical burn, and if this treatment doesn't work, he may refer you to a specialist. If it is worse then it was to begin with, it could be that there is infection brewing.
