Newborn baby born premature - Now 3 weeks old and 6 lbs..

Newborn baby born premature - Now 3 weeks old and 6 lbs.. When Thomas is drinking his formula, his feet turn purple/blue very quickly. I then realized that he's eating fast and not breathing through his nose. Is this normal? My solution was removing his bottle and allowing him to take small breaths of air. Please advise...
