Question

Knee Injury

Sent to Health Experts July 14, 2006 6:22 p.m.

Hi, I hit my left kneee the other day...pretty hard. Now when I walk up stairs, there is a slight "snap" when the left leg is going from the bent position to the fully extended position. I dont feel pain....just worry about what could be happening or what could be getting damaged. Any idea what this may be? I hit my knee exactly 5 days ago, didn't notice the snapping noise until now.

REPLIED Check Mark

You may need an MRI of the knee to rule out meniscus tear. I suggest to you to see an Orthopedic Surgeon as soon as possible.

I did some reasearch on what you suggested could be the problem and the main symptom I found was that you feel a pain in the knee. I dont feel any pain...i just feel a click and I dont feel the sturdy balance or security in that leg that I do with the other. DO you think this is something I may really need to go to a doctor for or is it something that time may heal?
