i went to the eye doctor today 47 yr old male and the doctor told me I have a bacterial infection of the eye and presciprted ciloxan and vigamox does this mean i have a staff infection such as my wife believes

There is no way to tell unless the fluid from your eye is cultured. What was prescribed are some very broad spectrum antibiotics which will kill a large amount of different bacteria.

It could be any number of the thousands of different bacteria out there.

You should be fine as long as you both wash your hands well with antibacterial soap, and don't let her touch your eye and then touch hers. some of that hand sanitizing gel might help too. As long as you don't touch your eye or she doesn't, without washing hands, you will be fine.
