my 3 year old son has a knot on his top ear lope in the middle, it feels like it has a fever but not red nor draining nor bad order. THe dr told me he wanted to see him if he had this . it is hard to explain but like top of your ear lope but it the middle before the opening of the ear canal there is a knot. What should I know ? what does this mean ? can you break your ear ? 2 weeks ago, my daughter bite his ear cause swelling but the knot never went away .

Hi,

It i possible that it is a group of scar tissue that has built up from the bite. This is quite normal though if it starts getting bigger or there is draining you will need to get him into see his doctor. If it is scar tissue there is no reason or alarm as it will go away on it's own.

It is possible that it is cellulites which will need to be treated by antibiotics. Since this was a injury from a bite I would recommend that he be seen by his doctor to determine which it is.
