I've Been practicing karate for two years now, when i was trying to excecute a move (a certain kick), my knee was loose and it came out of the joint and then it snapped back in to place, I fell to the floor and it hurt badly. Is this called trick knee and what can i do so this will never happen again or can i have surgery to fix my knees and how much will it cost me for both knees?

Have you damaged your knees at all in the past?

Any bruising or redness to your knee?

What is your pain like?

Where is the pain?

I doubt that your knee is popping in and out of place on it's own. What you are describing sounds like your knee is just buckling which makes it feel like it is popping out. You may have damaged a tendon or ligament when doing the karate move. You should see a doctor to find out if physical therapy is right for you. You may just need to strengthen up some tendons or ligaments for this to go away. Seeing a doctor will also be good to rule out if you need surgery. It is hard to tell without physically examining you and ordering the appropriate tests. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
