I recently fell and in doing so I bent my fingernail on my left hand ring finger half way back. Do I need to be special careful to not get anything (liquid) under the part that isn't attached? Will lose my whole fingernail?

Already Tried:
soaking in peroxide, wearing a finger guard to help protect, sqeezed out all of the puss, went to dr... no help just antibiotic.

Reply to HealthGuru aka Emily's Post: Well before I got most of the puss out from there it was really white looking... looked like it was disconnected except for in a few places. There wasn't hardly any blood when it happened. The nail bent back half way. Its not brown where it bent. Right now it looks a lot better than it did. Getting some pink color back towards the bottom where its not disconnected. I would say that the part that is disconnect from the nail bed is more of white color.
