Reply to Pamela's Post: No the doctor did not explain what it was and I believe he told her he didn't know what it was. He was seeing her for a w/c injury and this myeloid thing was revealved on her MRI. He did tell her to see her own doctor quickly and that her doctor might send her to a hematologist.

Edna,

Hyperplasia means that there is an abnormal increase in cell growth. Myeloid means involving the spine or bone marrow.

It doesn't necessarily mean cancer, but when you have an abnormal increase in the cell growth, it warrants further investigation.

I would take the physician's advice and see her own doctor so that further studies can determine exactly what is going on.

Please let me know if I can help further. It must be nice to have such a good person like you to be so concerned.
