How long should you take plavix?

I was told at the VA hospital that i was not to take pavix for no more than 1 year.

Generally, your doctors instructions should be what determines how long you take any medication. If your doctor has instructed you to take it for no more than one year, than you should comply. Each person is different and each situation is different, only a person's doctor can make that determination.

Then you should take his advice and only take Plavix for a year. My husband was on Plavix and his doctor had him on it for 6 months. It does not have any effect to cease taking it. (You don't have to wean yourself off of it.)
