Sent to Health Experts August 21 11:50 AM

I had a miscarriage a few months ago and the Doctor said I am healthy enough to begin trying immediately. I found out from my Dr. as I was miscarrying that they had noted in my first ultra sound that I had a "small yolk sack"...what does this mean and can I prevent this from happening again?

Thanks!

The yolk sac is what nourishes the baby until the placenta forms and takes over. There is nothing specific you can do to prevent this from happening again except that normal taking good care of your health, not doing drugs, alcohol or smoking and taking folic acid and multiple vitamin supplements and eating a well balanced diet.
