My daughter missed her appointment to have sutures (3) ...

My daughter missed her appointment to have sutures (3) removed from her lower lip. It has been over 2 weeks since the appointment, and the tissue has grown over the sutures. Should she be taken in to have the lip re-cut to remove them? There is a bump and you can see them through the skin.
