Subluxation is partial dislocation with movement, that reduces spontaneously when the movement is reversed.

Yes, you do have instability.

Hi, Rob.

In this matter the two words mean the same thing. The vertebra tends to move back and forth just a little bit.

If the docs are radiolgists, the different terms are understandable. They never come out with a definitive statement. We say that the radiolgist's favorite plant is the hedge.

If they're not from the same specialty, it's just different strokes.

If they're from the same speciality, it's different schools.

Rob,

There could be nerve root compression. Your doctor will probably order an MRI.

Kyphosis is a forward flexion of the spine and focal means in a limited area; when thi happens in the thoracic spine, the person looks hump backed. This is the opposite of lordosis where the spine curves backwards, like the letter "C." The normal curvature of the cervical spine is lordotic.

Rob,

Only very, very rarely do pericardial cysts cause a problem. I have seen a few as incidental findings on imaging studies, none of which were of consequence.

Rob,

The pericardial cyst is of no concern, particularly since it is getting smaller.

They form during fetal development like many, many other minor structural variations.

I'll be happy to look at anything you send, That's why I'm here.

All I ask is that you let people know we can answer their quesrions and give me feedback that we can use in JAs marketing.
